Eden carries and dresses herself like someone who's very aware of the impression that appearances give. She dresses to blend or give the impression she's looking to give, though she tends towards low-cut things and other ways of showing skin when it won't stand out completely. Her clothing is expensive, and her looks are clearly well taken care of.

The best put together mess you'll ever meet, Eden is in it all for a good time. She's a shamelessly sensual hedonist who likes to have fun, and while she'll encourage other people to do it with her, in the end she'll focus on her own pleasure and leave people behind if she must. She puts herself first; she's not entirely self-centered, but at the end of things her morals are self-serving, and she'll prize her own survival over anything else.

But she genuinely likes people, a lot, and doesn't do well with feeling alone. She needs close relationships to be truly happy, but the combination of the one person she cared most about leaving and pressure from her father means she has trouble forming them. Instead, she forms a lot of fleeting, shallow connections, which isn't nearly as satisfying, but is better than having no one. She has abandonment issues, she's slightly touch-starved and extremely affection-starved, and all of her walls are built around the hole in her heart where it feels like someone belongs and she has nobody to fit. Get through the walls and manage to see that, there's a lot of pain that's usually deeply buried.

At her best and at her worst, she's a showman. She's constantly putting on masks and she's very, very good at knowing how to manipulate people and show them what they want to see; but she also enjoys big, playful theatrical gestures when she's feeling loose enough to offer them. People she likes will get showered in offhanded compliments, thoughtful gifts, and other shows of care. She has a deep-set tenderness to her, and she likes taking care of people, though it often comes with an element of trying to control them for their own good that's uncomfortably modeled after her father. The reverse, though, is a major trigger, and she has control issues for days.

With her father's encouragement, she's spent a lot of time thinking of people as means to an end: a way to enjoy herself, a step to where she wants to be, a tool for what they can achieve. This has been slowly changing recently, but this kind of manipulation is habitual, and particularly comes out as a defense mechanism when she's backed into a corner.

The younger child of an extremely shady, corrupt businessman, Eden has in some ways been spoiled her entire life. She's gotten most of the things she wants at the drop of a hat, between her father's money and her brother's indulgence of her demands, and she's never had to worry about food, shelter, work, or anything financial. But the flip side to this has been living under her father's control. He's demanding, judgemental, and constantly withholds the praise and affection that Eden desperately wants unless she's done exactly what he wants her to do.

When she was younger, her brother's easy care and affection made up for this lack, and through her childhood and early teens he was the most important thing in her life. As they got older, though, he started seeing the issues in how they were raised when his father started preparing him to step into his business -- one riddled with questionable practices, bribes, and criminal acts. Eden saw her father's way as simply how things were, and the rift began to grow between them until, eventually, he left. The hole he left behind has never really healed, and the topic of her brother is one of the few ways to get Eden to drop her masks.

After college -- paid for by her father, and during which she spent a lot more time playing than learning -- she returned to her father's home, where her physical needs, if not her emotional needs, continued to be met in abundance. In her adulthood, she began assisting her father -- charming clients, carrying out deals, taking care of whatever little things he requested from her -- while his control and judgements over her became more and more of a fixture in her life, pushing out what little praise and affection she was used to, despite her skill in the areas he asked for her help in.

That lack of affection pushed her to seek it elsewhere, and eventually is what got her to start questioning her father's ways, after starting to see that the people he'd deemed stepping stones and tools were a lot more complicated than that. Breaking away means leaving behind everything she knows and trying to make her way in the world on her own, though, so instead Eden continues to live with her slow-growing conscience and questions, hiding her concerns behind an Oscar-worthy performance of still being daddy's little girl, and trying not to think too hard about how long she'll be able to keep it up.

ANGEL VARIANT

This version of Eden is older, a little more mature, and much more in control of herself, with her abandonment issues and need for affection buried much more neatly, even if they're all still there once you get much, much deeper down. Instead of a controlling father, she has a complicated relationship with another angel; he's a kind of father-figure, one she owes a lot to, but who doesn't have nearly as much control over her mentally or financially. She's been around a long time, and she knows how to take care of herself in the world. She's, if possible, even more hedonistic than her human version, partly because her areas as an angel lean highly on the physical, and partly because all that time running around in the world has convinced her even more thoroughly that the best thing she can is enjoy herself. Her version of Heaven is a mess, and she never plans on going back home.

ABILITIES

If it falls under the category of physical bodies, Eden can at least attempt it when she's strong enough. This includes healing, protection, puppet-mastering, making people ill, inducing lust, and probably a lot of other things that she doesn't really bother to use, because she's just not that interested.

NEEDS

Eden feeds on people's physicality and energy, almost more like you'd expect from a succubus than an angel. She doesn't need sex specifically, but she needs contact in order to be her healthiest. This has no ill effect on the person she feeds from, and can create a kind of endorphin rush for them.
